Weekly Weigh In

Well, today was our first "official" weigh in. We decided that every Monday morning we'd weigh ourselves to track our progress. The first week was very successful. I lost 4.5 pounds last week and Pete lost 10! Super exciting and just proves that Eating Clean is the cornerstone of success. This week we've each set small goals we are striving to attain (as seen in my post yesterday). In my quest to ACTUALLY meet one of my goals (I am great at setting goals but in the past haven't always made it to the actual "meeting" part) - I promised to wake up at 5:30 tomorrow morning and do my boot camp workout video. So, Pete has happily accepted the position of kicking me out of bed when the alarm goes off tomorrow before the sun even considers coming up. Aye Carrumba! I know this is what it'll take to get where I want to be and I am willing to sacrifice to get there.

  1. Ok, well I thought that I would contribute to Anna's blog since it is pretty awesome to see her, my brother, and my nephew trying to change their life in a healthy direction. It clearly working for them both and its amazing to see how much food they are actually eating, but lets talk about exercise for a minute. A little secret about exercise is that only accounts for about 30% or weight loss or weight gain in my case. That doesn't discount the fact that its a very vital portion of a healthy lifestyle. Anyone can exercise and you don't need a room full of expensive gym equipment. A little know secret one of the best pieces of equipment anyone can buy is a simple jump rope. With that I'd like everyone to try a workout with one when you get a chance. Its a quick 16 minute workout and anyone can do it. Simply do single skips as fast as possibly for 20 seconds then rest for 10 seconds. Then do double unders as fast as possible for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds and back to single skips. You can see where I'm going with this. Keep doing this until you have reached the 16 minute mark. The key to this is maximal effort for the entire 16 minutes guys and I know you'll be panting at the end of this little workout. GOOD LUCK
